Dear Sir/Madam,
I came across the General Dentist position that was posted on the Indeed.com. I am intending to be one of your reliable team workers.
As a way of introduction, I am Ping Ke Fang, a DDS candidate (Advanced Standing Program for International Dentists, ASPID) at University of Southern California School of Dentistry (USC Dental), Los Angeles, California, and will graduate in this coming May. Before joining USC Dental, I had multiple dental degrees from China, including Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine for Dentistry (similar to current DDS in the USA with extra medicine training), Zhengzhou University; Master’s Degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Wuhan University, where I was privileged to learn from one of the notable figures in China in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Professor Yifang Zhao, the former President of Chinese Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery; and lastly, PhD in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Molecular Immunology in Peking University, Beijing, where I was fortunate enough to study with two pronounced professors: Dr. Xuchen Ma in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the first modern MD and PhD in China, and Dr. Dalong Ma, one of the leading scientists in Molecular Immunology in China and Vice Chairman of Central Committee, Sept. 3rd Society (one of democratic parties in China). During those periods of education, I was able to enrich myself with the broad knowledge and skills in the Dentistry, Medicine, and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and basic science. Afterwards, I continued my career on the basic science track at Harvard Medical School, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, and Ambition Biosciences Inc., the last of which allowed me to oversee the medical field with emphasis on human genetics and genomics. Along the way, attainment of the best and dedication to innovation were some of my perennial themes.
Normally, there should not be much to talk about credentials for a dental school student in the USC Dental or any pre-doctoral students in any dental schools. Therefore, I only want to enumerate several points related to my dental education at USC Dental.
Besides fulfilling the basic requirements for the graduation, I made special efforts to improve myself in several frontiers:
1. Trying to follow the greatest faculty as much as possible, clinically. This, together with hard work and my unique approach to learning, allows me to deliver great works for my patients consistently.
2. Trying to tackle the complicated cases as much as possible. I was able to achieve great results for the complicated oral rehabilitation cases, typically only reserved for the prosthodontist or those in the residency program.
3. Trying to read as much as possible, including textbooks and reference books in all the major disciplines, as well as literature related to many major topics. Thus, I am able to fathom the dentistry from strategic high ground.
4. Further refreshed and extended my strengths in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Medicine, with the generous support of Director of Special Patient Clinic. The Director created many opportunities for me to perform surgeries and to deliver other comprehensive cares for special patients.
5. Devoted substantial share of my time to service the underserved population, including but unlimited to medically compromised patients, homeless, drug users, seniors, and children from undocumented immigrant families.
6. Lastly, established solid relationships with all the relevant parties, including educators (all the professors), all levels of school officers and supporting staffs, patients, and fellow students.
I believe I can contribute to your success in many ways and hope to join you as one of the wonderful team members.
Thanks for your precious time. If you need further information, please let me know any time.
Sincerely yours,
Ping Ke Fang
